Pinktober 2026: Early Action, Better Outcomes

The Ghana Bar Association Women's Forum was honoured to participate in the official launch of Pinktober 2026 at the Ministry of Health Headquarters, Accra, held under the theme "Early Action, Better Outcomes."

The launch, organised by the Breast Society of Ghana in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ghana Health Service and Jhpiego, brought together health professionals, advocates, survivors, women's groups, community leaders and other stakeholders to renew the national commitment to breast cancer awareness and improved care.

"A painless lump is not a harmless lump." A lump or thickening in the breast or armpit, a change in breast shape or skin, or nipple changes or discharge should be checked by a health professional without delay.

"No woman should be left behind because of cost, distance or stigma." Breast cancer care requires collective action. Families, workplaces, communities, health professionals, civil society and government must work together to support early detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Our message is simple: know the warning signs, seek professional care early, reject stigma, and stand with every woman and family affected by breast cancer.

The GBA Women's Forum remains committed to advocacy, awareness and compassionate support for better health outcomes for women in Ghana.
